Anti Bullying

The school has an effective Anti-Bullying Policy and the Learning Managers Tutors and Learning Mentors ensure that it is fully implemented. Links with parents are very important in this area and we welcome support from you to help us work with pupils to ensure that Pleckgate is, as far as possible, a pleasant community for everyone.

Empathy Team

A group of 20 Year 11 pupils have undertaken a training course, run by Blackburn with Darwen Children's Services, as part of our anti bullying initiative to enable them to be a point of contact for our Years 7 & 8.  Each member of the team can be identified by a distinctive badge and these pupils will patrol the yards and school at both break and lunch time.  If you need someone to talk to but feel you cannot approach a teacher these pupils will be around to help.

If you are being bullied or know of someone who is being bullied, tell a member of our Empathy Team, a teacher, Pastoral Manager, parent or another adult.

How does bullying make you feel?
