Key Stage 3:
Pupils are assessed on entering the school and as a result of this may follow Literacy Catch-up, Speech and Language and specific Spld programmes, all 1:1 sessions.
12 pupils in Year 7 follow the curriculum in English, Maths, RE, History, Geography, French and ICT based in Learning Support, studying Key Stage 3 topics at a Key Stage 1 level of difficulty.
Key Stage 4:
Learning Support offers BTEC entry level Life Skills and units are chosen to suite the pupils following the course that year. The department's link with Crosshill School enables pupils to use the flat there to further develop their skills for life.
Alternatives to Maths and English GCSEs are offered, giving pupils the opportunity to leave school with qualifications in these subjects.
Pupils who are supported in school and attend Blackburn College as part of ASDAN are supported there too.
Literacy Catch-up, Spld and Speech and Language sessions are attended by some pupils in Key Stage 4.
