Monday 8th March saw the historic 'groundbreaking' ceremony as we prepare for the new £25 million building which is already well under way.
Pupils, staff and visitors witnessed the cutting of the turf and we were delighted to be joined by representatives from the Council and Balfour Beatty (our contractors).
The Headteacher, Robin Campbell, said 'This is a historic day in the life of Pleckgate High School which sees the beginning of the journey when all of the planning turns into reality'. Click here to view more photographs of the ceremony

Staff, pupils, parents and governors celebrated the Annual Awards evening on Thursday 12th November. We were delighted to welcome, Kevin McMahon, Principal of St Mary's College to present the awards to former and present pupils.

The photograph shows the signing of the Governing Body agreement which signifies the real start of the BSF programme for Pleckgate. This agreement paves the way for the contractors, Balfour Beatty Ltd, to hopefully commence work in January. Pictured signing the document is the Chair of Governors, Mrs Ruth Pimley accompanied by Headteacher Mr Robin Campbell and Mrs Dot Thomson, Senior School Improvement Officer for Blackburn with Darwen.

Once again the summer GCSE results showed some outstanding performances both individually and across subject areas. 47% of pupils achieved 5+ higher grades (A*-C) including English and Maths (just below the national average). 59% of all pupils achieved 5+ higher grades with 100% A* - C grades (or equivalent) in BTEC Sport, Statistics, Music and CIDA (ICT).
Achievement across the ability range was OUTSTANDING with 99% of all pupils achieving 5+ A* - G grades and every single pupil achieved some form of qualification. This is a remarkable level of pupil achievement particularly when the starting points for some pupils are taken into consideration. Click here for a summary of the KS4 results.
